I really love the options we have for authentic drum sounds, and Addictive Drums 2 has become my go to drum plugin.

I’m not a drummer though, I don’t have a full drum kit, but I still prefer real drum sounds over synth sounds. All in all great sounds, easy to use, lots of variety, nice n dry for easy integration into your mixes, and the sounds take very well to working into your DAW with plug-ins (comp, eq, verb, limiter etc.) I would recommend this to any songwriter looking to flesh out ideas, construct songs, or even record complete mixed tracks.I’m a HUGE fan of acoustic drums. Just saying that there are instances where it’d be nice to insert a basic beat and then midi edit around it until it fits your idea. But I want my own personal drum tracks for my own personal music, so no big. There are literally zero straightforward normal beats to build off of. They all have odd and random off time or syncopated elements which would be an insane coincidence if they actually linked up with what you’re writing. I will say that I find the pre-programmed beats to be nearly useless though. I’m an audio perfectionist with 18 years of consistently playing and writing and I am very impressed with this product in terms of sound quality, variety, and usability. It’s much better than my snoring boring amateur drum tracks from an e-kit. Installing and setting up was really easy, and programming midi drums is so much easier than I thought. The drum tones are very good and are dry enough to allow you to fine tune, mix and get the sound you’re looking for. Thank goodness I took the plunge with Addictive drums.
Addictive drums 2 review software#
So I was afraid to commit to drumming software and midi programming because I didn’t want inferior tones, or an onerous programming sequencing process. However, with an actual kit, I could at least get my ideas out with a simple swing of the arms and legs, and my kit’s module has really good sounds. For over s year I’ve been trying to play an electronic drum kit to get drum tracks for my songs, but I’m just not a great drummer. Im not an experienced drummer, I’m a guitar player and singer songwriter with a home studio who writes and records his own music. XLN Audio actively tests Addictive Drums 2 on the following:
